Contact represents the one million disabled children in the UK. It runs campaigns and delivers direct services for families to improve their access to information, resources or equipment.

True Colours supported the creation of Contact’s Listening Ear service, a confidential, one-to-one phone service where parent carers can talk with one of the charity's family support advisers for a listening ear, reassurance and practical and emotional support.

Developed during the pandemic when many parents found themselves suddenly without their normal support networks, Contact's Listening Ear service remains a vital lifeline for parent carers who may be struggling emotionally and looking for strategies to help them, or who would just like to talk to someone who understands the extra challenges parent carers of children with additional needs face.
